The school year is off to a fantastic start. The staff of Carnegie Elementary, Crafton Elementary and the junior-senior high school have continued the Carlynton tradition of creating a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our students.   As school safety is a responsibility in which we all share, this letter is to inform you of the upcoming district-wide safety drills.

Each of our schools will be conducting various safety drills during the month of September.  The administration and district personnel have been working diligently to strengthen our Emergency Response Plan.  As such, all of Carlynton School District campuses will be practicing drills.

During the month of September each school will perform the following drills: a Reverse Evacuation Drill, a Fire Drill, an Intruder Drill, and a Severe Weather Drill.

The Carlynton School District encourages you to have discussions with your children regarding the seriousness of being prepared for an emergency situation.  Please explain the importance of following the directions of Carlynton staff during the drills. This will help to develop an awareness of the necessary steps in the event of an emergency situation.

Any questions surrounding the safety month of September should be directed to the building principal of your child’s school.
