Dr. Kreider reported the plan was developed in accordance with all state requirements and guidelines. The plan provides three models of instruction: (1) a Remote Learning Model, (2) a Hybrid Model, and (3) a Traditional Model for instruction in the classroom.

Following careful review and assessment of the COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County, the board and administration have decided to begin the school year in the Remote Learning Model for at least four weeks or longer, based on numbers of cases in the county.

Every student will be issued a laptop and instruction will include live online interaction and sessions with teachers, following all curriculum guidelines, for more robust learning.

Dr. Kreider went on to report other guidelines within the health and safety plan, related to cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of facilities as well as ventilation in classrooms, common spaces and hallways.
