What happens when alum Bill Cowher gets inducted into the Pittsburgh Steelers 2019 Hall of Honor Class?

It’s a win for Carlynton!

The Steelers will pay tribute to former head coach Bill Cowher before its Monday night, September 30 football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Cowher, a 1975 graduate of Carlynton Junior-Senior High School and former resident of Crafton, along with the Steelers, have invited members of the Cougar football team, coaches, and the marching band to the celebration and game at Heinz Field.

The marching band will lead a parade to kick off the Hall of Honor pre-game ceremonies. Band members and football players will have the distinct privilege of observing the ceremony up close and the chance to shake hands with the legendary alumni. Students will also get to mingle with former Steeler greats Larry Brown, Elbie Nickel, and Hines Ward who join Cowher as 2019 Hall of Honor inductees.

Before the start of the game, members of the Cougar football team and band will take the field, lining up on the goal line. The band will perform the school’s alma mater and Cougar fight song.

Afterwards, the students will climb to complimentary reserved seats to watch the game, and of course, cheer on the Steelers.

The district extends it sincere gratitude to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Mr. Cowher for this rare and incredible opportunity for our students. Go Steelers!
