Carnegie and Crafton Elementary schools will observe family night open houses Thursday, October 17 from 6:30 P.M.-8:30 P.M. This evening is a time to welcome parents and invite them to visit classrooms to become familiar with the educational environment.

The evening will also allow parents to learn more about the active PTA organizations in the schools. Parents will have the chance to enroll as a member and become more involved in the school in a number of volunteer opportunities.

At Carnegie Elementary, a Scholastic book fair will be held in the gymnasium with the chance to purchase books and meet a representative from the local Carnegie Free Library. The PTA will host a bake sale and offer popcorn to visitors.

The Crafton Elementary sixth grade committee will be selling pizza and other goodies at open house. The gym will be the location for a Scholastic book fair with an assortment of books for all ages available for purchase. A sixth grade spelling bee will be held in the auditorium, adding some excitement to the evening.

In both schools, student work will be displayed in classrooms and hallways to showcase the enthusiasm students have for learning and give parents the chance to observe aspects of the curriculum.

Please join us for open house! We look forward to meeting you.

The open houses do not present adequate time for teachers to individually meet with parents to discuss the progress of a child. School administrators encourage parents to call or email a teacher to schedule a conference.
