Adventures in Wonderland is the theme for the 2019 homecoming celebration, set to kick off October 4 with a morning pep rally in the high school auditorium. At the rally, the homecoming court will be introduced and the king and queen will be announced and crowned before peers.  (Please note a change in schedule: the king and king will announced and crowned during the half time ceremonies of the football game).

Congratulations to the selected members of the 2019 homecoming court: Nick Cindrich, Erin Fox, Jada Lee, Makayla Linn, Dakota Mayfield, Dallas Paolino, Ainsley Pearce, Mark Phillips, Maggie Reigle, and Evan Staker.

Starting at 6:00 pm, the Cougar marching band will lead a parade on Washington Avenue will featuring members of the court.  Later, at the pre-game of the Cougar football game at Honus Wagner Field, the homecoming court will be introduced to fans, parents, and relatives, making for an exciting evening, and the king and queen will be announced and crowned.. That, alongside a Cougar victory over the Burgettstown Blue Devils (positive vibes, Carlynton!).

The high school gym, carefully camouflaged with festive decorations to mirror an Adventures in Wonderland setting, will be the site of the semi-formal homecoming dance Saturday evening, October 5 from 7:00-10:00 pm. The embellishments and catered refreshments, deejay, and special lighting will surely pale in comparison to the gals adorned in tulle, satin, or sequins and perfectly-matching heels, flawless up-dos and manicures. The boys, too, will turn some heads, sporting fetching suits with ties and sliding across the hardwood in smooth-soled treads.

The annual fall celebration of homecoming is viewed as a time to welcome the return of alumni. For students, the social event provides a shot of school spirit and a memory in the making by celebrating shared experiences among friends.
