The Cougar Marching Band performed the National Anthem before the Pittsburgh Pirates game August 24 against the Cincinnati Reds. A Pirate win made for a great night

The evening game was also a promotion night. The first 20,000 fans received a Pirates lightweight hoodie.

The band performed outside PNC ball park before marching inside to perform the National Anthem and then joining family and friends in the stands for a great night of baseball.

The Cougar Marching Band will host its annual band festival September 14, 7 pm, at Honus Wagner Field. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children/students and will be sold at the gate. (Sorry, Green/Gold passes will not be accepted for this event).


The band is looking for future Carlynton Cougarettes, Majorettes, and Colorguard!!

Girls in grades K-6th who would like to join the fun and perform a dance at this year’s Carlynton Band Festival are welcome!

Sign-ups/PracticeSign-ups will be September 14, 10:00 -10:30 am. Students MUST be accompanied by a parent. Practice for the evening performance immediately follows sign-ups starting promptly at 10:30 am and ending at 12:00 pm. 

At that time students will learn the dance for the show. (Please bring water as the concession stand will not be open).

Cost$10 (Includes pom-poms for Cougarettes or a flag for color guard and is yours to keep.) ONLY girls in grades 4th - 6th are able to participate in the majorette routine and MUST bring their own baton.

Show time – please be there no later than 6:30 pm, the show starts at 7:00 pm!

Meet:    Please use the entrance on Charles Street behind the field.  There will be a table to check your child in and get their name tag.  A band member will then escort them to the field.
