APPLICATION PROCESS                                                                       

The following list of items must be included with your application packet:
  • Detailed Letter of Interest - Cover Letter
  • Completed Application (available below)
  • Resume Vitae
  • PA Certification(s) for the position-PA Superintendent Letter of Eligibility
  • All required clearances /background checks including, but not limited to, Pennsylvania State Police Background Check (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI – Federal Criminal History Background Check (Act 114)
  • Official Transcripts
  • Minimum of Three (3) Current Letters of Reference

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Carlynton School District (Allegheny County): 
The Carlynton School District Board of School Directors is seeking a student-centered individual with integrity and excellent communication/management skills to lead the district beginning January 1, 2020. The selected individual must be able to create a shared vision and provide inspired leadership. The successful candidate should appreciate and embrace the values of the small and close-knit school community setting.  Must have experience in maintaining and improving student achievement and experience with school finances and contract negotiations. Must have experience with curriculum development and the use of technology for staff and students. Experience in holding a central office position such as superintendent or assistant superintendent is preferred and Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility is required at time of employment. The district is approximately 3.3 square miles, with a student population of 1,340 and a staff of 122 teachers. Three separate buildings provide facilities for K-12 instruction. The district operates on a budget of $29.6 million budget. The position includes a competitive salary and benefit package. Interested candidates must submit a completed application packet in accordance with directions provided on the home page of the District website at www.carlynton.k12.pa.us. Application Deadline is August 30, 2019. Position is available until filled.
