readers who simultaneously and effortlessly employ
a range of strategies. This theory is supported by providing
instruction that is coordinated with classroom practice based

Room services students in kindergarten through third grade.
Students qualify to participate through teacher recommendation

(Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Ready Skills). |
This year's service for students in kindergarten through
second grade is guided by the Reading Achievement Center.
Our program increases student learning and reading achievement
through the implementation of scientifically based reading
research. Lessons are designed around phonemic awareness,
alphabetic principle, fluency and comprehension.
Students in third grade are receiving instruction through the
Corrective Reading Program. The Corrective Reading
Program increases a child’s ability to read with fluency and
understanding.
The reading program receives Title I
funding under the Improving School’s Act of 1994. |
