Extracurricular Programs
The core of any educational system is epitomized by the learning that takes place in the classroom. The Carlynton School District places great emphasis on academics, yet realizes the need for students to be exposed to extracurricular activities and athletics. Despite its small size, a wide array of clubs, sports and extracurricular programs is available for students in grades 7-12.

Students involved in any of the extracurricular activities are generally elected to a position or selected through an audition or try-out procedure, with the exception of the National Junior and National Honor Societies. Induction into these prestigious academic societies is based on scholarship, leadership, service and character. Students must also maintain a 3.4 GPA to be eligible for membership.
